The performance of polysilazane resins in terms of anti-corrosion and weather resistance is beyond that of ordinary resins. Ordinary resin coatings are vulnerable to erosion by acids, alkalis, salt fog, and humid environments, resulting in blistering and rusting. Their service life is usually less than one year in strong corrosive media. Polysilazane resins, with their carbon-free structure and dense ceramicized coating, fundamentally prevent the penetration of corrosive media and eliminate the problem of carbonization and aging.
The active groups in its molecules can react with the polar groups on the substrate surface, forming a dual protective layer that combines physical shielding and electrochemical protection. After testing, the steel coated with polysilazane showed no signs of corrosion during the 2400-hour condensation water test, effectively resisting corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and sulfur dioxide. At the same time, it also has excellent hydrophobicity and anti-aging properties, maintaining stable performance in outdoor exposure and high-humidity environments for a long time. It does not require frequent renovation and achieves a significant leap in protection cycle compared to ordinary anti-corrosion resins in fields such as chemical pipelines and marine equipment.
