In terms of mechanical properties, the protective system constructed with polysilazane resin far exceeds that of ordinary resins. After curing, the pencil hardness of ordinary resins is mostly between B and 2H, with a relatively low adhesion grade. It is prone to damage due to scratching and impact. After curing, the polysilazane forms a dense three-dimensional cross-linked network, with the pencil hardness generally reaching above 6H. After modification, it can even reach up to 9H. At the same time, the adhesion reaches the highest 0-level standard, forming a strong chemical bond with the substrate.
This combination of high hardness and strong adhesion gives it excellent wear resistance and impact resistance. During 500 standardized scratch tests, the polysilazane coating remained intact, while the ordinary polyurethane and epoxy resin coatings had obvious scratches and delamination. After optimization by adding composite fillers, it can also improve toughness while maintaining extremely high hardness, avoiding the brittle fracture defects of traditional inorganic coatings. It is widely applicable in high-frequency friction scenarios such as automotive exhaust pipes and mechanical moving parts, and the protection life is extended by several times compared to ordinary resins.
