In the coatings industry, wetting agents serve as crucial additives, playing a pivotal role in regulating the interaction between the liquid and the solid surfaces, thereby becoming a core element for enhancing the performance of coatings. The mechanism of their action lies in reducing the surface tension of the coating system, allowing the resins, pigments, and other components to be uniformly dispersed on the substrate surface and form a dense coating. With the tightening of environmental protection regulations, water-based coatings have higher requirements for wetting agents. The new generation of polyether-modified siloxane wetting agents, while maintaining excellent dynamic wetting performance, can reduce the usage by 40% and significantly reduce the tendency of paint blistering. In automotive original paint, these additives can improve the uniformity of coating thickness by 15%, directly optimizing the anti-corrosion performance. 
From building facades to the battery casings of new energy vehicles, wetting agents are continuously expanding their application boundaries through molecular design innovations. The advancement of this technology not only drives the coatings industry towards more efficient and environmentally friendly directions, but also becomes an important indicator for evaluating the R&D capabilities of coating enterprises.
