Due to the differences in their chemical structures, there are significant differences in their performance. Methyl silicone oil has excellent heat resistance, and can be used for a long time within the temperature range of -50℃ to 200℃. It also has good electrical insulation, weather resistance, hydrophobicity, physiological inertness, and a relatively low surface tension. Moreover, its viscosity coefficient is low, and the viscosity changes little at different temperatures, and its compressibility is also high. These comprehensive properties enable methyl silicone oil to function in many fields.
While methyl fluorosilicone oil, thanks to the characteristics of fluorine atoms, exhibits even more outstanding performance. Its heat resistance is even better, and it can be used stably at temperatures exceeding 300℃. This characteristic enables it to handle some extreme high-temperature environments. In terms of electrical insulation, methyl fluorosilicone oil performs well in high-voltage electronic equipment, and its insulation performance is superior to that of methyl silicone oil, providing more reliable insulation protection for electronic devices. In terms of hydrophobicity, methyl fluorosilicone oil is extremely hydrophobic, and the presence of fluorine atoms greatly enhances its ability to repel water molecules. In terms of chemical stability, methyl fluorosilicone oil is also superior, and it is difficult to react with other substances, maintaining its own properties stable in complex chemical environments. However, due to the complexity of fluorine raw materials and synthesis processes, the cost of methyl fluorosilicone oil is relatively high. In contrast, methyl silicone oil has a lower cost due to large-scale production.
