In the production of ink and printing processes, wetting agents are the key additives that ensure printing quality. Their core function is to improve the wetting properties between the ink and the substrate surface, and to solve printing defects caused by mismatched interfacial tension.
If the ink lacks wetting agents, it is prone to problems such as pinholes, bubbles, and poor adhesion due to the low surface tension of the substrate. Wetting agents reduce the surface tension of the ink, allowing it to spread quickly and evenly on the substrate surface, forming a continuous and smooth ink film, significantly enhancing the adhesion of the ink. They are particularly effective in packaging printing and metal printing, avoiding the problem of ink layer detachment during later use.
During the printing process, wetting agents can also optimize the leveling and dispersion of the ink, reduce bubble formation, improve the glossiness and color uniformity of the printed products, and effectively solve defects such as ink exposure and stripes caused by uneven substrate surfaces or poor ink流动性. In addition, some special types of wetting agents can regulate the drying speed of the ink, balance printing efficiency and drying quality, avoid ink layer brittleness caused by rapid drying, or problems caused by slow drying, providing compatibility support for different printing processes and helping to improve the overall quality and stability of printed products.
