Fluorosilicone: The Key Applications of Sealing Guardians in the Aerospace and Automotive Industries 1.0

Hits: 512 img

Fluorosilicone (fluorosilicone rubber) is a high-performance elastomer that combines the high- and low-temperature resistance of silicone rubber with the oil and solvent resistance of fluororubber, making it an ideal choice for sealing and protecting in extreme environments. The following are its core applications in the aerospace and automotive industries:
1. Aerospace: Ensuring Safety in Harsh Environments
In aviation, aircraft must withstand extreme temperature swings of -55°C to 200°C, strong airflow, and corrosion from fuel and hydraulic oil. Ordinary rubber is insufficient for this task. Fluorosilicone products, therefore, are a key solution:
Fuel Tank Sealing System: Fluorosilicone is used in aircraft fuel tank seals, fuel line O-rings, and sensor protective diaphragms. It offers long-term resistance to swelling and aging from aviation fuel, hydraulic oil, and synthetic ester lubricants, ensuring a leak-free fuel system.
Engine and Hydraulic Systems: Fluorosilicone is used in high-temperature seals, turbocharger pipe connections, and hydraulic bellows. It withstands high-temperature airflow and high-velocity fluids exceeding 200°C, while maintaining flexibility at low temperatures to prevent fuel freezing and embrittlement. Other key components: cockpit cover seals, sensor gaskets and other components that require both weather resistance and biocompatibility, fluorosilicone can meet these requirements with excellent performance.
