The development history of fluorosilicone oil can be traced back to the 1950s. At first, with the maturity of polymer theory and the advancement of research on the practical application of silicone, fluorosilicone oil gradually came into people's view. In 1956, Tarrant P et al. successfully prepared trifluoropropyl silicone oil through hydrosilylation reaction, which marked a substantial breakthrough in the preparation technology of fluorosilicone oil. In the same year, fluorosilicone rubber resistant to gasoline and other solvents also came out, further promoting the development of fluorosilicone materials.
Subsequently, in 1957, Dow Corning Group of the United States submitted a patent application for fluorosilicone oil preparation technology, opening the prelude to the industrial application of fluorosilicone oil. In the following decades, Japan, Russia, China and other countries have also successively invested in the research of fluorosilicone oil technology, continuously promoting the innovation of its preparation technology and the expansion of its application field.
Especially since the beginning of the 21st century, with the increasingly diversified requirements of various industries for material performance, fluorosilicone oil has been favored for its excellent weather resistance, high and low temperature resistance, chemical stability and waterproof and oil repellency. As one of the important markets for fluorosilicone oil, China's preparation technology research has shown the characteristics of late start and rapid development. The number and quality of patent applications are constantly improving, and the comprehensive competitiveness of related enterprises is also gradually increasing.
Nowadays, fluorosilicone oil has been widely used in many fields such as cosmetics, petroleum, leather, paper, etc., and has become one of the indispensable important materials in modern industry. In the future, with the continuous advancement of science and technology and the continuous expansion of application fields, the development prospects of fluorosilicone oil will be broader.
