First, silicone coatings have excellent
dielectric strength. Dielectric strength is a measure of the ability of a
material to withstand voltage in an electric field without breakdown. The
dielectric strength of silicone coatings is usually between 20-50 kV/mm, which
can effectively prevent electrical breakdown and ensure the safe operation of
electrical equipment. In high-voltage applications, silicone coatings can not
only serve as insulating media, but also prevent arcing and leakage. This is
crucial for high-voltage transformers, switchgear and other high-voltage
electrical equipment.
