In terms of physical properties, the difference
between methyl silicone resin and phenyl silicone resin is also obvious. Due to
the strong polarity of phenyl group, phenyl silicone resin has greater polarity
and is more compatible with polar materials. Methyl silicone resin has lower
polarity due to the weak polarity of methyl group. In addition, phenyl silicone
resins generally have higher heat resistance and can maintain stability at
higher temperatures. Methyl silicone resins may show better flexibility and
processing performance at lower temperatures.
